The sacristans ministry is more often behind-the-scenes, but most critical.  Although this ministry is multi-faceted, the prime responsibilities of sacristan are two fold:

• Prepare the the items to be used at mass
  • Pouring the wine ahead of time
  • Setting out the bread and sacred vessels
  • Setting out the Roman Missal and Sacramentary
