Religious Education

The Religious Education Program provides education and formation in the Catholic faith tradition to families whose children are enrolled in the city’s public schools, in grades 1 through 8.

The program uses a family formation model supported by catechists for each grade level and monthly presentations for parents.  Sessions are held on Wednesday evenings, in the church, school and via Zoom (certain weeks of the each month).  Registration is required. (see form below)

What does it “take” to be a catechist?

Mainly, a desire to pass on the faith. Materials and lesson plans are provided.  Catechists meet over Zoom in advance of the monthly group sessions to prepare together.  Serving as a catechist is a wonderful ministry that will deepen your own relationship with God. Is it easy?  No.  Is it rewarding?  Very.  If you have a desire to pass on the faith to children, please contact us.
